Share and export groupings

Updated over a week ago

Overview

This article covers sharing and export options.

Examples:

  • "How do I print groups?"

  • "Can I send this to Canva?"

  • "How do I copy this as an image or text?"

For group-creation actions (groups of, shuffle, rotate, drag and drop), see the Grouping basics support article.

Share grouping workflow

1. Open a class.

2. Click Share in the top toolbar. (On smaller screens, open the three-dot menu in the top toolbar to find Share.)

3. Choose one option:

  • Share to Canva

  • Copy image to clipboard

  • Copy text to clipboard

Option details

  • Saves a printer-friendly PDF to the device.

  • Grouper does not provide a direct Print button.

  • Recommended print path: download PDF, then print the file.

Share to Canva

  • Creates a synced embedded grouping in Canva.

  • Follow instructions after selecting Share to Canva to complete the embed.

  • Updates the embedded Canva grouping when the grouping is changed on Grouper.

  • A newly created grouping does not automatically replace a prior Canva embed.

Copy image to clipboard

  • Copies a visual snapshot of the grouping.

  • Can be pasted into tools like Google Slides, Google Docs, Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, Nearpod, PowerPoint, and many more.

Copy text to clipboard

  • Copies a plain-text list of groups and members.

  • Useful for quick sharing in docs, messages, and LMS tools.

Important behavior

  • Share options appear only when at least one group exists.

  • If Share is disabled, create groups first (for example with Groups of, Number of Groups, or Shuffle).

Troubleshooting

"Share is disabled"

Create at least one grouping, then open Share again.

"My Canva embed did not update after I made a new grouping"

Create a new Canva share/embed from the new grouping state.

"I need a printout"

Use Download PDF, then print from your PDF viewer.
