PRO Teams overview
PRO Teams lets a district, school or department purchase Grouper PRO for an entire group of teachers at once. The team owner is responsible for the subscription and everyone on the team gets PRO automatically when they join.
PRO is a paid upgrade that unlocks unlimited student attributes, student roles, Live mode tools, AI-assisted data imports, unlimited class size, unlimited saved groupings, and priority support. See the pricing page for the full feature list.
Setting up a PRO Team Subscription
There are two ways of setting up a PRO Team subscription:
Option A (most common): Send a purchase order to [email protected], then the Grouper staff will typically set up your subscription within 24 - 48 hours. You can find prices for multi-teacher subscriptions at pricing page, though for large orders we recommend you contact us to help you diagnose needs and find out about the latest promotions.
Option B: Purchase multiple subscriptions online via the pricing page, then the PRO Team subscription will be live immediately.
Once your subscription is active, you'll receive an invitation to become the team owner and begin inviting PRO Team members
The Teams page
The Teams page is where you can invite and manage members of your PRO Team, see how many team member slots you have available, assign admin roles (Central only), and navigate to member classrooms (Central only).
To access the teams page:
1. Click your profile photo at the bottom of the left sidebar
2. Select My team.

Inviting PRO Team members
There are two ways to invite PRO Team members from the Teams page:
Option A: The invite tool
1. Click Invite members.
2. Enter the teacher's email address and click Invite.
3. The invitee receives an email invitation. Their status shows as Invited until they sign in and accept.
Option B: Share a link
1. Click Copy link.
2. Paste it into your messaging tool (email, Slack, Teams, text message, etc) and send it to the teachers you want on your PRO team.
3. When the teacher clicks the link, they'll be taken to Grouper and will be asked to accept the PRO Team invitation as soon as they sign up or sign in.
Once the teacher accepts the invitation, they are automatically granted a PRO seat.
Note: Only the team owner and admins can invite members.

Managing your subscription
To add PRO seats, remove seats, or make other changes to your subscription, contact [email protected].
Grouper Central
Grouper Central is an add-on for PRO Teams designed for schools and districts. Central gives team owners and admins tools to manage student data, enabling creation of data-driven small groups across all teachers and classrooms.
What Central includes
Bulk student data uploads — Admins can upload student data files (CSV, Excel, etc.) for the whole school or district. Grouper extracts student records and attributes automatically, making the data available to all team members for use in grouping creation.
Class access — Admins can view the Grouper classes of any team member who has granted data-sharing permission. This makes it easy to coach teachers and observe their work on Grouper.
White-glove onboarding and support — Central customers receive hands-on setup assistance and priority support from our team.
Central admins
Central admin seats are purchased separately from PRO seats. The team owner assigns the admin role to specific team members. Admins have access to all Central features. The owner and admins of a PRO team must have a PRO seat first in order to be assigned a Central seat. To purchase Central admin seats, contact [email protected].
Data sharing and consent
Because Central admins can access teachers' student data, Grouper requires explicit consent from each teacher before sharing their data. When Central is enabled on a team, each team member sees a one-time prompt asking them to grant or deny access.
Teachers can grant or deny at any time. Admins will only be able to access classes of teachers who have granted access.
Accessing team member classes
To view and manage team member's classes, groupings, attributes and more:
1. Go to the My team page
2. Click the name of any teacher who has authorized access
3. To switch the view to a different member's classes, use the yellow dropdown at the top of the screen
Uploading data as an admin
1. Request Datasets access for the owner and/or admins who will be responsible for uploading student data.
2. Go to My team.
3. Click Add dataset.
4. Drag and drop your data files, or click to browse.
5. Click Upload.
Grouper processes the files and extracts student records and attributes. Uploaded datasets are visible to all team members with students who match the students in the datasets. Datasets can be amended, replaced, or archived at any time.
Troubleshooting
"A team member isn't getting PRO"
Make sure they have accepted their team invitation (status should show Accepted on the team page). If their status is still Invited, use the Resend invite option.
"I need to add more seats"
Contact [email protected] with your team name.
"A teacher's data isn't visible in Central"
The teacher must have granted data-sharing permission. Ask them to check for the consent prompt in Grouper. The team page shows a Data shared column so you can see each member's consent status at a glance.
