Class views

Overview

Grouper class pages have three views:

  • Student list

  • Groups

  • Seating

Each view supports a different part of the same workflow. This article explains where to find the view selector and what each view is for.

For class and roster operations (add/remove/sync/combine/archive), see the Class management support article.

On desktop, use the View as control near the top of the class page.

  • Click Student list, Groups, or Seating to switch views.

Mobile

On mobile and smaller screens, use the dropdown menu at the top of the class page to switch between Student list, Groups, or Seating.

  • Use Groups when your goal is instructional grouping.

  • Use Seating when your goal is seat layout and seat assignment.

Quick FAQ

"Which view should I use first in a new class?"

Most teachers start in Student list to create or confirm the student roster and add data that is useful for grouping, then move to Groups or Seating based on lesson goals.

"Do these views use different student data?"

No. The views are different interfaces for working with the same class and students.
